Our Mission

“At StarkMarkings podcast, we recognize our world’s constant metamorphosis; no two decades, years, or even days ever look the same. Despite changing times, we are all bound together by our never-ending journeys of growth as we encounter love, identity, tragedy and other markers of a life fully lived. Each episode features two interviews, one coming of age story from the past and one from the present. By placing these narratives in conversation, our mission celebrate the notion that growing up is timeless.”

Our Beginnings

Created in the summer of 2022, Victoria originally planned for StarkMarkings to be a podcast about literature and music, particularly how people’s taste in literature has changed overtime. The original format asked guests to create a playlist which matched a literary selection of their choosing. This early rendition of StarkMarkings is unique to Season One. Yet, since then, Victoria has decided to take a more individual focus to StarkMarkings’ exploration of change, pivoting away from literature. However, in many ways, even without the books, the core concept remains true: how do people grow? Still leaving room for potential further evolution of the podcast, Victoria, alongside her new co-host Angelena, now embark on a narrative journey, rooted in the human experience, to answer that question.
